    Product description

When you need to use RFID for special industry management, such as cement product management, this RFID tag will be the perfect choice. It can be embedded in concrete or cement and can withstand the harsh conditions of the construction process, ensuring accurate and consistent communication throughout the lifecycle of the structure.

Wireless Communication: This tag is built to communicate wirelessly, transmitting not only the ID number of the RFID chip but also the digitalized output of a strain gauge sensor embedded in the concrete.

Experimental Read Ranges: Experimental read ranges are measured from a handheld UHF RFID reader, with reading possible up to 50 cm from the surface of a mortar block for a tag embedded 5 cm below the surface.

Compact Size: The overall tag size is 46.5x31.5mm, which is comparable to the volume of the largest aggregates used in the concrete industry, ensuring practical integration into concrete structures.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Can this RFID tag be embedded directly into concrete?

Yes, this RFID tag is specifically designed to be embedded in concrete or cement. It is built to withstand the harsh conditions of the construction process, ensuring accurate and consistent communication throughout the lifecycle of the structure.

    2. What is the typical read range of this tag when embedded?

When using a handheld UHF RFID reader, the tag can achieve a read range of up to 2.2m (US frequency) or 2.1m (EU frequency) when embedded at a depth of 5cm. When embedded at a 10cm depth, the read range is up to 2.0m (US) or 1.9m (EU).

    3. What physical dimensions and materials are used for the tag?

The tag measures 46.5x31.5mm with a thickness of 7.5mm, making it comparable to the size of large aggregates used in the concrete industry. It weighs approximately 22g, is black in color, and is made of durable PPS material.

    4. What environmental conditions can this RFID tag endure?

The tag features an IP68 rating, rendering it highly resistant to dust and water. It has an operating temperature range of -25°C to +100°C and can withstand storage temperatures from -40°C to +150°C.

    5. Which RFID frequencies and protocols does it support?

It supports US (902-928MHz) and EU (865-868MHz) frequencies, operating under the ISO18000-6C (EPC global UHF Class 1 Gen 2) protocol. The default IC type is Alien Higgs-3, but other chips like Monza M4QT, Monza R6, or UCODE 7XM+ are customizable.

    6. Does the tag support wireless data transmission beyond the ID number?

Yes. This tag is designed to communicate wirelessly, transmitting both the ID number of the RFID chip and the digitalized output of a strain gauge sensor embedded inside the concrete structure.
