Wireless Communication

Built to communicate wirelessly, transmitting not only the RFID chip's ID number but also the digitized output of a strain gauge sensor embedded inside the concrete.

Experimental Read Ranges

Measured with a handheld UHF RFID reader, achieving reading ranges up to 50 cm from the surface of a mortar block for a tag embedded 5 cm below the surface.

Compact Size

Overall tag size of 46.5x31.5mm. Comparable to the volume of the largest aggregates used in the concrete industry, ensuring practical and seamless integration into concrete structures.
